Position Overview
We’re looking for a talented Multidisciplinary Engineering Manager to join our Structural Heart Division, based in Santa Clara, CA or Menlo Park, CA. You will play a key role in leading the design and development of innovative medical devices that align with Abbott's strategic goals.

Key Responsibilities
As a Multidisciplinary Engineering Manager, you will:

  • Lead the design and development of medical devices and components/subsystems.
  • Manage major projects, overseeing design specifications, performance requirements, and development work.
  • Provide technical insights on manufacturing processes, materials, and engineering techniques.
  • Mentor a team of engineers and technicians, offering guidance on problem-solving and design recommendations.
  • Lead or collaborate in empirical and experimental analyses, prototype development, and testing.
  • Work with consultants, vendors, and the medical community to meet project milestones.
  • Ensure quality system requirements and compliance with FDA regulations.
  • Conduct product reviews, coordinate testing, and define product specifications.
  • Provide leadership in resource planning and ensure project timelines are met.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field (Master’s preferred in Mechanical or Bioengineering).
  • At least 11 years of experience, with 10+ years in R&D engineering or related roles.
  • Proven experience in designing and testing medical devices (preferably in interventional cardiology).
  • Expertise in manufacturing processes and designing for manufacturability.
  • Strong project leadership and management skills.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and multitasking abilities.
  • Ability to work in a cross-functional, global business environment.
  • Willingness to travel 15-25%, including internationally.

Compensation
The base salary for this position ranges from $144,100 to $288,300. Pay may vary based on location.
