Position Overview
We’re looking for a talented Multidisciplinary Engineering Manager to join our Structural Heart Division, based in Santa Clara, CA or Menlo Park, CA. You will play a key role in leading the design and development of innovative medical devices that align with Abbott's strategic goals.

Key Responsibilities
As a Multidisciplinary Engineering Manager, you will:

Lead the design and development of medical devices and components/subsystems.
Manage major projects, overseeing design specifications, performance requirements, and development work.
Provide technical insights on manufacturing processes, materials, and engineering techniques.
Mentor a team of engineers and technicians, offering guidance on problem-solving and design recommendations.
Lead or collaborate in empirical and experimental analyses, prototype development, and testing.
Work with consultants, vendors, and the medical community to meet project milestones.
Ensure quality system requirements and compliance with FDA regulations.
Conduct product reviews, coordinate testing, and define product specifications.
Provide leadership in resource planning and ensure project timelines are met.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field (Master’s preferred in Mechanical or Bioengineering).
At least 11 years of experience, with 10+ years in R&D engineering or related roles.
Proven experience in designing and testing medical devices (preferably in interventional cardiology).
Expertise in manufacturing processes and designing for manufacturability.
Strong project leadership and management skills.
Excellent communication, organizational, and multitasking abilities.
Ability to work in a cross-functional, global business environment.
Willingness to travel 15-25%, including internationally.

Compensation
The base salary for this position ranges from $144,100 to $288,300. Pay may vary based on location.
