Job Summary

Lilly is hiring a Senior Director – Global Diagnostics Scientific Affairs at its headquarters in Indianapolis, Indiana. This high-impact role requires an experienced diagnostics expert to lead global strategies in lab medicine and diagnostic availability. The successful candidate will act as a thought leader across business units, guiding partner selection, laboratory insights, and scientific training. This is a key leadership opportunity for those passionate about diagnostics and scientific advancement in the pharmaceutical industry.


Key Responsibilities

  • Act as enterprise subject matter expert in lab medicine and pathology.

  • Develop and execute global strategies to improve diagnostic accuracy and test availability.

  • Lead central management of diagnostic guideline body submissions (e.g., CAP, ADLM).

  • Provide strategic input on companion diagnostics and partner selection.

  • Track lab market trends and technologies to guide business units.

  • Support evidence generation and ensure best practices across studies.

  • Deliver diagnostics training and represent Lilly in scientific engagements.

  • Drive collaboration across business units to integrate diagnostic expertise.


Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Ph.D. or equivalent doctorate in a relevant field.

  • Minimum 5 years of clinical or pharmaceutical industry experience.

  • At least 8 years of experience in diagnostic medical affairs preferred.

  • Deep understanding of laboratory medicine, including pre-analytical, analytical, and post-analytical processes.

  • Demonstrated problem-solving and measurement-oriented mindset.

  • Experience working in matrix and global environments.

  • Strong interpersonal, collaboration, and communication skills.
