Job Summary

Thermo Fisher Scientific is hiring a Sr. Scientific Support Specialist for its Unity Lab Services team to support laboratory operations, chemical inventory management, glasswash activities, scientific lab support, and buffer/media preparation in a regulated laboratory environment.


Key Responsibilities

Laboratory Operations

  • Verify chemical inventory levels, storage locations, and expiration dates.

  • Perform:

    • Bench audits

    • Full-cycle inventory counts

    • Barcode-based inventory tracking

  • Receive, inspect, label, and store chemical shipments as per:

    • Compatibility guidelines

    • DOT regulations

  • Identify and resolve:

    • Inventory discrepancies

    • Storage condition issues

    • Documentation mismatches


Scientific Support

  • Support scientific laboratory activities including:

    • Buffer preparation

    • Media preparation

    • pH conductivity testing

    • Calibration

    • Titration techniques

    • Chemical compatibility handling

  • Perform glassware washing and sterilization.

  • Ensure lab cleanliness, readiness, and compliance.


Additional Support

  • Support general laboratory operations as assigned by management.

  • Maintain compliance with GMP and safety standards.


Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent


Required Experience

  • Minimum 2 years of laboratory experience

Experience in:

  • Lab operations

  • Scientific support

  • Chemical handling

  • Inventory management
