Role Overview

Thermo Fisher Scientific is seeking an experienced Assistant Manager – Sales (Channel Management) to strengthen its distributor-led sales strategy in India. This role focuses on developing, executing, and optimizing channel sales initiatives while building high-impact distributor partnerships. The position plays a key role in driving revenue growth, expanding market presence, and ensuring customer satisfaction across a diverse life sciences and analytical product portfolio.

Experience Required

  • 8–10 years of progressive experience in sales and channel management

  • Proven track record in distributor-driven sales models, preferably within life sciences, laboratory equipment, analytical instruments, or medical devices

Educational Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Chemistry, Life Sciences, Biology, or a related scientific discipline

  • Equivalent commercial experience in scientific or technical sales will be considered

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute channel sales strategies to achieve revenue, growth, and market share targets

  • Build, manage, and strengthen relationships with distributor partners and key stakeholders

  • Support distributor-led sales activities, including joint customer engagements and demand generation initiatives

  • Analyze market trends, customer needs, and competitive landscape to identify growth opportunities

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including marketing, supply chain, and product management

  • Optimize routes to market and ensure effective coverage across assigned territories

  • Support distributor capability development through training, performance reviews, and sales enablement

  • Manage inventory planning, forecasting accuracy, and sales performance reporting

  • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and consistent brand representation

Required Skills and Competencies

  • Strong sales leadership and channel management expertise

  • Excellent negotiation, presentation, and communication skills

  • Ability to understand and communicate complex scientific and technical product applications

  • Strong analytical and strategic planning skills with experience in quantitative reporting

  • Proficiency in CRM platforms, preferably Salesforce, and Microsoft Office Suite

  • Well-organized with strong time management and prioritization abilities

  • Customer-centric mindset with strong problem-solving skills

  • Ability to work effectively in a matrix and cross-functional organizational structure

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in medical devices, laboratory equipment, analytical instruments, or diagnostics

  • Exposure to distributor management across diverse geographic territories

  • Multilingual capabilities are an advantage

  • Willingness to travel 20–30% within the assigned territory
