Position Overview

Fortrea is seeking an experienced Clinical Research Pharmacist II to join our Dallas team. This role is integral to ensuring the safe, compliant preparation and dispensing of investigational compounds in Phase 1 clinical trials. The successful candidate will collaborate with sponsors, regulatory authorities, and internal teams, contributing to the highest standards in clinical pharmacy operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as pharmacy subject matter expert across all phases of clinical research studies.

  • Oversee pharmacy operations for clinical trials with minimal supervision, ensuring compliance with GxP standards (GMP, GCP).

  • Develop, maintain, and update SOPs, pharmacy manuals, and compliance processes.

  • Liaise with sponsors and regulatory agencies to ensure adherence to regulatory and internal standards.

  • Support feasibility reviews, cost analysis, and sourcing of pharmacy materials for clinical studies.

  • Maintain pharmacy facilities, equipment, and implement safe working practices.

  • Provide technical guidance and training to clinical research teams.

  • Assist with documentation, reporting, and process improvements as needed.

  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.


Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Registered Pharmacist or PharmD in the applicable state.

  • Minimum 5 years of pharmacy experience, preferably in a hospital setting.

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in clinical research.

  • Strong knowledge of GxP standards (GMP, GCP) and regulatory requirements.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, technology-driven clinical environment with dynamic priorities.


Work Environment

  • Laboratory and clinical environment with exposure to electrical office equipment and biological fluids.

  • Use of personal protective equipment (eyewear, garments, gloves) required.

  • Occasional on-site travel for cross-site support or training (<5%).

  • Work involves long periods of standing or sitting and repetitive hand movements.

  • Light to moderate lifting (up to 15–20 lbs), bending, stooping, and twisting.

  • Flexible work hours as required for clinical trial operations.
