Job Overview

Roche Services & Solutions India is seeking a skilled Clinical Trial Payment Specialist to support global clinical studies by managing site payment activities with accuracy, compliance, and efficiency. This role plays a critical part in ensuring timely payments to research centers while adhering to country-specific regulations and Roche internal policies.

The position requires strong expertise in clinical trial finance, payment reconciliation, stakeholder coordination, and system-based payment execution, with hands-on experience using enterprise platforms such as SAP, MyBuy, and Veeva.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Trial Payment Operations

  • Ensure accurate and timely recording of payment-related data in Roche systems including SAP, MyBuy, and Veeva.

  • Generate and consolidate payment proposals per research center in alignment with Clinical Trial Agreements and defined timelines.

  • Execute site payments through Roche-approved financial systems and processes.

  • Perform payment reconciliation and support research centers in resolving payment-related issues.

  • Provide payment verification and site-level financial information to country teams for financial oversight and compliance.

Financial Oversight and Compliance

  • Respond to audit requests and financial inquiries related to clinical trial payments.

  • Ensure compliance with country-specific regulations, internal policies, and audit requirements.

  • Maintain accurate vendor, contract, study status, and forecast data within Roche systems.

  • Set up and manage Clinical Trial Purchase Requisitions end-to-end.

Stakeholder Collaboration and Issue Resolution

  • Act as a subject matter expert for payment-related escalations, driving timely issue resolution.

  • Collaborate closely with Finance, Procurement, Clinical Operations, and country teams to align on payment timelines and forecasts.

  • Participate in stakeholder meetings as the primary point of contact for clinical trial payments.

  • Train new team members on clinical trial payment processes and system usage.

Reporting and Process Improvement

  • Calculate, track, and distribute Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) related to clinical trial payments.

  • Identify and recommend process improvements, automation opportunities, and forecasting enhancements to increase efficiency and accuracy.


Required Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline.

Experience

  • 4+ years of experience in clinical trial payments, clinical finance, or a similar role.

  • 2–3 years of experience in the pharmaceutical or clinical research industry preferred.

  • Experience working with global stakeholders and managing complex payment workflows.

Skills and Competencies

  • Strong analytical, planning, and problem-solving abilities.

  • High attention to detail with excellent data accuracy skills.

  • Strong prioritization and deadline management capabilities.

  • Excellent written and spoken English communication skills; additional languages are an advantage.

  • Proven interpersonal, collaboration, and influencing skills across cross-functional teams.

  • Proficiency in MS Office applications and enterprise finance systems.

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a complex, matrix organization.
