Coder – Profee Geriatrics / Nutrition | Medical Coding Specialist

Job Overview

We are hiring a Coder – Profee Geriatrics / Nutrition for a leading healthcare revenue cycle management organization. This role focuses on professional fee medical coding for geriatrics and nutrition-related clinical services using standardized coding systems such as ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS.

The position is ideal for candidates seeking to build expertise in outpatient medical coding, specialty-based coding, and US healthcare revenue cycle operations.


Job Details

  • Job Title: Coder – Profee Geriatrics / Nutrition

  • Experience Required: 1–2 years (Freshers with strong medical coding knowledge and training readiness may also be considered)

  • Education Qualification: Life Sciences / Paramedical Graduate or Postgraduate

  • Work Type: Full-time

  • Shift Requirement: As per business need (may include rotational shifts)

  • Travel Required: None


Key Responsibilities

  • Accurately assign ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS codes for medical diagnoses and procedures

  • Perform coding for geriatrics and nutrition-related clinical documentation

  • Ensure all assigned coding volumes are completed within defined Turnaround Time (TAT)

  • Maintain productivity and accuracy standards as per client guidelines

  • Review assigned work volumes provided by Team Lead (TL)

  • Ensure 95%+ coding accuracy consistently across monthly targets

  • Participate in quality audits and implement feedback from QA and TL teams

  • Collaborate with team members for workflow efficiency and accuracy improvement

  • Attend weekly QA and team meetings and actively participate in discussions

  • Ensure strict adherence to data confidentiality and healthcare compliance standards

  • Report any information security incidents as per organizational policy


Required Skills

  • Strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology

  • Ability to interpret patient medical records across multiple specialties

  • Knowledge of ICD-10-CM and CPT coding guidelines

  • Strong analytical and attention-to-detail skills

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a coding team

  • Good communication and documentation abilities

  • Ability to maintain speed and accuracy under workload pressure


Preferred Skills

  • Experience with coding tools such as 3M Encoder, TruCode, or Optum

  • Familiarity with EHR/EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, etc.)

  • Exposure to multiple specialties including Emergency, Radiology, and Outpatient coding

  • Proficiency in MS Excel and reporting tools
