Data Ops Associate – Elsevier (Chennai)

Elsevier is hiring a Data Ops Associate in Chennai, India to support its Customer Data Operations (C-DOT) team within the Customer Service and Order to Cash Enablement division. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining customer master data, creating and updating customer accounts, processing agreements and orders, and ensuring high-quality data operations support for internal stakeholders. You will collaborate with teams such as sales support, business operations, data stewards, and technical teams to ensure accurate customer data management and smooth order-to-cash processes. This role is suitable for candidates with experience in data operations, customer account management, master data management (MDM), and customer support processes. The estimated salary for this role ranges from ₹4 LPA to ₹7 LPA depending on experience in data operations and customer service support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain customer accounts and master data in internal systems.

  • Process orders, agreements, and customer requests within defined turnaround times.

  • Respond to internal customer queries via email or phone using best practice guidelines.

  • Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and training modules for process compliance.

  • Perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for escalations and implement Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA).

  • Support process improvement initiatives and data quality activities.

  • Assist in quality auditing processes and ensure accuracy in data operations.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in any discipline.

  • 2+ years of experience in customer service, data operations, stakeholder management, or master data management roles.

  • Basic understanding of Master Data Management (MDM) and Order to Cash processes is an advantage.
