Job Summary:
Novartis is hiring an Expert – Science & Technology (CPP-PHAD) for its Global Drug Development (GDD) division in Hyderabad. This role is instrumental in leading formulation development and scale-up of parenteral dosage forms, with a focus on aseptic process development and advanced analytical techniques. You will work at the cutting edge of pharmaceutical R&D to bring next-generation injectable drugs to patients faster and with greater precision.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and execute formulation and profiling strategies for parenteral and oral drug products
Perform solid-state and analytical characterization (solubility, dissolution, UV, UPLC/HPLC, XRPD, NMR, FTIR, etc.)
Develop enabling technologies like nanosuspensions and amorphous solid dispersions
Manage aseptic process development including mixing, filtration, filling, lyophilization
Generate technical reports, risk assessments, and regulatory documentation (IND, IMPD, etc.)
Ensure lab and equipment maintenance, infrastructure readiness, and inventory management
Contribute to cross-functional collaboration, mentoring, and continuous innovation
Ensure full compliance with GxP, HSE, and Novartis internal guidelines and SOPs
Required Skills & Qualifications:
PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences/Chemistry with 5+ years OR M.Pharm with 7–10 years of relevant experience
Proven experience in parenteral drug product development and aseptic processing
Hands-on expertise in analytical characterization and scale-up technologies
Familiarity with aseptic unit operations and equipment (lyophilizers, sterile filtration, mixing)
Experience in regulatory submissions (IND/IMPD) and documentation writing
Strong communication, presentation, and scientific reporting skills
Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally in matrix organizations
