Job Summary
Sanofi is hiring a Group Lead – Scientific Writing to drive excellence in medical content creation, publication strategy, and team leadership. Based in Hyderabad, this senior leadership role requires extensive experience in the pharmaceutical or healthcare content domain, with the ability to lead multi-functional teams and manage high-level stakeholder relationships. The role involves oversight of medical education materials, publication planning, and process optimization across therapeutic areas and Global Business Units (GBUs).
Key Responsibilities
Lead cross-functional teams of scientific writers, editors, and project specialists
Coach and mentor senior writers and team leads across various content areas
Act as a strategic partner for multiple therapeutic areas within assigned GBUs
Oversee development and quality assurance of publication materials, including abstracts, manuscripts, slide decks, and posters
Guide the execution of publication plans and ensure timely, compliant deliveries
Implement and evolve content processes, tools, and technologies (PromoMats, iEnvision, Datavision)
Monitor KPIs including quality, efficiency, timelines, and cost optimization (targeting savings up to €10 million)
Ensure regulatory and operational compliance across all scientific communication outputs
Maintain strong engagement with global medical, commercial, and R&D stakeholders
Required Skills & Qualifications
Minimum 10 years of experience in scientific or medical writing in pharma, CRO, or academia
Proven track record managing multi-layered teams (≥10 members) in content development
Expertise in therapeutic areas, publication planning, and medical education
Proficiency with platforms like PromoMats, iEnvision, Datavision, and Matrix
Advanced degree in life sciences, pharmacy, or medicine (MBBS/MD/PhD)
Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and leadership skills
Strong knowledge of publication ethics, compliance standards, and global healthcare regulations
Ability to work independently while aligning with cross-functional global teams
