About the Role
VEE Healthtek is hiring experienced EM Medical Coders and Senior Coders to join our US healthcare coding teams. This role involves reviewing, coding, and validating emergency medicine (EM) patient records while ensuring adherence to coding standards and client-specific compliance. It is ideal for professionals looking to advance their career in EM medical coding.
Key Responsibilities
Assign accurate EM diagnosis and procedure codes using ICD-10-CM, CPT, and DRG standards.
Ensure coding compliance with client requirements and US healthcare regulations.
Maintain productivity and quality metrics according to SLAs.
Collaborate with QA and team leads to resolve coding discrepancies.
Implement feedback from supervisors to improve accuracy and efficiency.
Support process improvement initiatives within the EM coding team.
Mandatory Skills & Qualifications
1–3 years of experience in EM medical coding.
Strong knowledge of US healthcare coding standards (ICD-10-CM, CPT, DRG).
Graduate degree in Life Sciences, Medical Sciences, or a related field.
CPC / COC certification preferred.
Excellent analytical, communication, and attention-to-detail skills.
Ability to manage deadlines while maintaining coding quality.
Preferred Skills
Prior experience in EM coding QA or senior coder roles.
Familiarity with US healthcare compliance and clinical documentation standards.
Ability to mentor junior coders and provide constructive feedback.
