Role Overview:

The Manager Forecasting leads the development of long-range, global forecasts for Novartis’ portfolio, shaping strategic decisions for pipeline and in-line products. This role collaborates with cross-functional teams including Therapeutic Area Strategy, Commercial Marketing, Competitive Intelligence, Primary Marketing Research, and Business Analytics to support pipeline assessments, investment decisions, and lifecycle management.


Key Responsibilities:

1. Forecasting & Strategy:

  • Lead strategic forecasting for pipeline and in-line products.

  • Conduct lifecycle management forecasting and BD&L opportunity assessments.

  • Support critical business cases and investment decisions (go/no-go).

  • Provide ad-hoc forecasting support to cross-functional teams.

2. Collaboration & Knowledge Management:

  • Partner with forecasting team members, cross-functional stakeholders, and external vendors.

  • Establish and manage knowledge repositories capturing qualitative and quantitative insights on brands and disease areas.

  • Participate in knowledge-sharing sessions to enhance expertise and improve forecasting quality.

3. Innovation & Data Analytics:

  • Contribute to efficiency, robustness, and simplification of forecasting processes.

  • Leverage new data and technologies to enhance forecasting and visualization capabilities.

  • Support advanced data visualization and presentation of insights.

4. Compliance & Operations:

  • Ensure adherence to Novartis operational guidelines, including legal, IT, HR, and internal functional procedures.

  • Track KPIs, time reporting, and compliance with internal systems and processes.

5. Team Development:

  • Support recruitment and onboarding of new forecasting associates.


Essential Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in pharmaceutical/healthcare forecasting, pipeline, or epidemiology forecasting.

  • Strong analytical skills to synthesize data into actionable insights.

  • Solid understanding of global pharma markets (US, JP, EU).

  • Proficiency in pharma and clinical trial databases.

  • Expertise in epidemiology-based forecast modeling and long-range forecasting.

  • Understanding of patient flow and Target Product Profile (TPP).

  • Graduate/Postgraduate in Engineering, Pharmacy, Medicine, Science, Statistics, or Business.


Desirable Requirements:

  • Exceptional business acumen and stakeholder management skills.

  • Proven experience working in a matrix environment.
