About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Manager – Clinical Site Planning & Supply Chain Operations to lead and oversee raw material planning, site supply chain execution, and warehouse/logistics operations at our Hyderabad site. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Development Supply Chain, you will provide operational oversight, strategic execution, and people leadership for a team of Senior Associates. This role ensures reliable, compliant, and right-first-time execution across all supply chain functions while driving process discipline, operational rigor, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

People Leadership & Team Management

  • Lead and mentor a team of 4 Senior Associates across raw material planning, site supply chain, and warehouse/logistics operations.

  • Define clear performance expectations, provide coaching, and support career development.

  • Ensure effective workload distribution, cross-training, and operational continuity.

  • Foster a culture of accountability, compliance, and continuous improvement.

Operational Execution Oversight

  • Manage raw material planning and MRP-based execution to ensure material readiness and uninterrupted site manufacturing operations.

  • Oversee shipping, sales order management, warehouse coordination, and inventory movement activities.

  • Maintain SAP master data integrity and transactional accuracy for right-first-time processing.

  • Monitor inventory levels, material flows, and logistics execution to mitigate risk, reduce excess, and prevent obsolescence.

  • Escalate and resolve supply chain, logistics, or execution risks in a timely manner.

Performance & Process Management

  • Establish, track, and report operational KPIs related to service levels, inventory accuracy, execution timelines, and compliance.

  • Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for performance gaps.

  • Identify and execute process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, service levels, and cost performance.

  • Provide operational insights and performance reports to Senior Manager and site stakeholders.

Cross-Functional & External Collaboration

  • Partner with Planning, Manufacturing, Quality, Procurement, Finance, and Warehouse stakeholders to align execution with site priorities.

  • Coordinate with external warehouse and logistics partners to ensure compliant and efficient operations.

  • Translate global and site priorities into actionable plans for the team.

Compliance & Governance

  • Ensure all supply chain activities comply with cGMP standards and Amgen procedures.

  • Provide oversight for documentation accuracy, audit readiness, and procedural adherence.

  • Support deviation management, documentation, and inspection readiness for the team’s scope of work.

Required Skills & Competencies

  • Strong experience in supply chain planning, logistics, warehouse operations, or materials management.

  • Demonstrated people leadership capabilities.

  • Proficiency in SAP or similar ERP systems (MRP, order management, inventory transactions).

  • Ability to manage cross-functional stakeholders in a matrix organization.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience in regulated pharmaceutical or biotechnology manufacturing environments.

  • Oversight of external warehouse or logistics providers.

  • Track record of driving operational process improvements.

  • Familiarity with supply chain KPIs, metrics, and performance reporting.

Soft Skills

  • Strong leadership presence and ability to influence without authority.

  • Ability to operate effectively in a global, virtual environment.

  • High accountability, discipline, and structured, data-driven decision-making.

Educational & Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree with 8+ years of relevant experience in supply chain, logistics, planning, or operations.

  • Master’s Degree with 8+ years of relevant experience is preferred.

  • Experience managing teams is required.

  • Prior experience in regulated manufacturing or life sciences is highly desirable.
