Role Overview

ICON is seeking an experienced Manager, Clinical Systems to lead and manage clinical technology platforms that support global clinical trial operations. This role is critical in ensuring the effective implementation, optimization, and compliance of clinical systems that enable high-quality data collection, reporting, and trial execution.

The successful candidate will act as a strategic partner to clinical, data management, and technology teams, ensuring clinical systems align with operational needs and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the implementation, maintenance, and optimization of clinical systems supporting clinical trial management and data integrity

  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to gather system requirements and align technology solutions with clinical trial objectives

  • Monitor system performance, conduct periodic assessments, and drive continuous improvement initiatives

  • Ensure clinical systems comply with applicable regulatory standards, industry guidelines, and internal SOPs

  • Provide training, guidance, and operational support to users, promoting system adoption and best practices

  • Manage vendor and technology partner relationships to ensure timely delivery and effective system performance

  • Support audit readiness and inspection activities related to clinical systems

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Life Sciences, Clinical Research, Information Technology, or a related discipline

  • 6–10 years of experience managing clinical systems or clinical technology within a CRO, pharmaceutical, or biotechnology environment

  • Strong understanding of clinical trial operations, data management workflows, and regulatory requirements (ICH-GCP)

  • Hands-on experience with clinical systems such as CTMS, EDC, eTMF, or related platforms

  • Proven leadership experience with the ability to manage teams and influence cross-functional stakeholders

  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills
