Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Manager, Health Economics and Outcomes Research (HEOR) to lead multidisciplinary research initiatives and provide strategic leadership across healthcare and life sciences projects. The role involves managing HEOR projects from planning to communication, ensuring methodological excellence, and delivering evidence-based insights that support market access, reimbursement strategies, and healthcare decision-making.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong expertise in health economics, pharmacoeconomic modeling, and health technology assessment, along with proven leadership and project management capabilities in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

Project Management and Execution

  • Lead and execute HEOR projects ensuring timely delivery, budget adherence, and high-quality outcomes.

  • Define project scope, timelines, and resource allocation across multiple concurrent initiatives.

  • Review project deliverables for accuracy, consistency, and compliance with organizational standards.

  • Proactively manage project risks, scope changes, and contingency planning.

  • Delegate tasks and supervise junior staff, contractors, and project teams.

  • Oversee and implement quality control processes to ensure research excellence.

Methodological Leadership

  • Provide strategic direction to ensure projects are supported by robust and defensible HEOR methodologies.

  • Ensure adherence to pharmacoeconomic analysis standards and health technology assessment requirements.

  • Support cost-effectiveness modeling design, analysis, and interpretation.

Client and Stakeholder Engagement

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.

  • Identify opportunities for ongoing collaboration and business growth.

  • Participate in client meetings to present findings and provide strategic recommendations.

Organizational Contribution

  • Develop project proposals, budgets, and timelines.

  • Support the development of best practices, tools, and operational frameworks.

  • Contribute to organizational growth strategies, resource planning, and project staffing decisions.

  • Promote a collaborative work environment through effective communication and professional conduct.

  • Demonstrate commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives.

People Leadership and Team Development

  • Provide mentorship, training, and professional guidance to junior team members.

Educational Qualifications

  • MSc in Life Sciences, Epidemiology, Health Economics, or a related discipline.

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of professional experience in health economics, health technology assessment, market access, or related fields.

  • Experience managing research projects and leading cross-functional teams is preferred.

Required Skills and Competencies

  • Strong expertise in cost-effectiveness modeling, pharmacoeconomic analysis, and outcomes research.

  • Experience preparing or supporting health technology assessment submissions.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and EndNote.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a dynamic work environment.

  • Strong leadership, team-building, and decision-making skills.

  • Excellent strategic thinking, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.

  • Effective stakeholder management and relationship-building capabilities.

  • Strong written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in model programming using VBA.

  • Familiarity with research tools such as R or DistillerSR.

Work Environment and Expectations

  • Standard work schedule: Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week.

  • Occasional travel may be required for client or stakeholder meetings.

  • Additional working hours may be necessary to meet project deadlines.

  • Office-based or remote work environment involving extended periods of computer-based work.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Competitive compensation and benefits package.

  • Expected base salary range: CAD 100,000–110,000 (applicable to Canada-based roles), based on experience, qualifications, and geographic location.
