Job Summary:
UCLA Health is offering an excellent opportunity for pharmacy students to gain real-world experience as a Pharmacy Intern in a leading inpatient pharmacy setting. Under direct pharmacist supervision, you will assist in essential drug distribution, sterile compounding, inventory management, and more. This per diem role is ideal for students passionate about hospital pharmacy and looking to expand their clinical knowledge.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist with inpatient drug distribution and medication delivery
Pre-package medications and maintain Pyxis medstation inventory
Perform sterile compounding including IVs and chemotherapy preparations
Maintain logs for refrigeration and hood cleaning
Support billing, housekeeping, and security functions
Ensure compliance with pharmacy operations protocols under licensed supervision
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Current enrollment in an accredited pharmacy program
Active California Pharmacy Intern license
Familiarity with sterile compounding techniques preferred
Basic knowledge of Pyxis or automated medication systems (a plus)
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow protocols
Willingness to work varied hours including weekends and holidays
