Principal Clinical Data Scientist – Novartis (Mumbai/Hyderabad, India)
Job Summary:
Novartis is hiring a Principal Clinical Data Scientist to lead data operations across clinical development programs (Phase I–IV). Based in Mumbai or Hyderabad in a Hybrid setup, you will drive clinical data strategy, data governance, and GCP-compliant data practices across high-impact trials. Ideal for senior professionals in data science and clinical data management, this role offers global exposure and leadership in a fast-paced pharmaceutical R&D environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead clinical data science activities across medium to large clinical trials (Phase I–IV)
Oversee internal and external data managers and ensure project-level data decisions
Implement consistent and compliant data management practices
Ensure data architecture aligns with regulatory and submission requirements
Drive data quality, governance, profiling, and integration across therapeutic programs
Coordinate audit readiness, preparation, and inspection response for data operations
Develop and execute scalable training strategies and knowledge-sharing models
Identify and resolve protocol-related issues impacting data flow or analysis
Represent the Data Operations function in global cross-functional teams
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Proven expertise in clinical data management, data governance, and clinical data science
Strong background in data architecture, data profiling, and master data strategy
Experience with global GCP and FDA clinical regulatory requirements
Proficiency in data review tools and listings generation
Excellent project management and cross-functional collaboration skills
Ability to lead data functions independently across complex global programs
Strong interpersonal, communication, and stakeholder engagement capabilities
