Novartis is hiring a Scientific Writing Lead in Hyderabad, India to head a medical communications team delivering high-quality, audit-ready scientific documents across therapeutic areas. This hybrid role offers the opportunity to shape global scientific messaging, lead cross-functional collaborations, and support US Medical Affairs through publication planning, slide decks, advisory boards, and more.
Lead and manage a team/squad of scientific writers for specific brands or therapeutic areas
Oversee the creation of scientific deliverables including publications, standalone materials, and symposia documents
Ensure scientific accuracy, data integrity, and compliance with SOPs and regulatory requirements
Monitor and enhance team KPIs in alignment with function heads and quality control
Act as a strategic partner to US Medical Affairs (USMA) in medical communications
Mentor, coach, and manage the performance and development of individual team members
Contribute to continuous process improvement and functional excellence initiatives
Ensure inspection and audit readiness of documents and systems
Minimum 5+ years of experience in Medical Communications with proven leadership abilities
Hands-on experience across various communication channels including publications, slide decks, advisory boards, and symposia
Strong scientific content review and stakeholder engagement capabilities
Demonstrated ability to build effective relationships in matrixed, multicultural environments
Educational background in healthcare-related field is required
Preferred: Advanced degree (PhD, PharmD, MD) in Life Sciences or Medicine
Experience with strategic medical communications planning is highly desirable
