Job Overview

Exelixis is seeking an experienced Senior Oncology Account Manager for the Portland territory to drive strategic growth across a complex oncology market. This role is ideal for a senior-level oncology sales professional with strong territory ownership, established provider relationships, and the ability to execute high-impact account strategies independently. The position plays a critical role in advancing compliant scientific engagement, supporting product launches, and contributing to a high-performance, values-driven sales culture.


Key Responsibilities

  • Execute strategic account and territory plans across a complex or multi-state geography to deliver sustained commercial performance.

  • Build, expand, and maintain strong professional relationships with oncologists, healthcare providers, integrated delivery networks, and institutional stakeholders.

  • Promote appropriate and compliant use of Exelixis oncology therapies through evidence-based scientific exchange.

  • Apply advanced analytics, market insights, and competitive intelligence to optimize territory planning and execution.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with medical affairs, marketing, access, and reimbursement teams to address clinical, operational, and access-related challenges.

  • Represent field insights in brand planning discussions and contribute to innovative tactical initiatives.

  • Identify emerging market trends, unmet needs, and competitive threats to inform proactive strategy adjustments.

  • Lead strategic pull-through initiatives in coordination with access and payer teams.

  • Serve as a field-based ambassador for new product launches, pilots, and enterprise-level initiatives.

  • Support regional leadership in business planning, training initiatives, and performance calibration activities.

  • Act as a mentor and subject matter resource for junior team members, sharing best practices and supporting professional development.

  • Uphold the highest standards of compliance, professionalism, and ethical engagement at all times.


Supervisory Responsibilities

  • This position does not have direct people management responsibilities.


Education and Experience Requirements

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline with a minimum of 9 years of relevant experience, or

  • Master’s degree in a related discipline with a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience, or

  • An equivalent combination of education and professional experience.

Experience Required:

  • At least 5 years of progressive oncology sales experience.

  • Demonstrated experience supporting or leading oncology product launches.

  • Proven ability to manage complex territories and high-value oncology accounts independently.

Work Environment and Travel

  • Travel requirement of up to 50%, depending on territory needs.


Compensation and Benefits

  • Base Salary Range: USD 181,500 – 232,000 annually, based on geographic location, experience, skills, and internal equity.

  • Performance-based incentive plan or discretionary annual bonus eligibility.
