Role Overview

Thermo Fisher Scientific is seeking a highly skilled Senior QA Automation Engineer (Data) to strengthen its quality assurance and data validation capabilities. This role is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining robust automation frameworks to ensure data integrity, regulatory compliance, and high-quality product delivery across enterprise data platforms. The position plays a critical role in protecting patient safety and ensuring reliable, compliant data operations in a regulated environment.

Experience Required

  • Minimum 5+ years of hands-on experience in QA automation, data validation, and testing within an Agile software development environment

  • Proven experience in automation framework development, preferably using Robot Framework

Educational Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline

  • Equivalent professional experience will be considered

  • QA certifications such as ISTQB are preferred

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain QA automation frameworks and tools to ensure data quality across multiple application layers

  • Execute, document, and maintain automated and manual test cases in alignment with organizational QA standards

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather business requirements and translate them into effective testing strategies

  • Perform data validation across ETL pipelines using SQL and cloud-based data platforms

  • Analyze test execution results, identify defects, and drive root cause analysis and resolution

  • Continuously improve test coverage, automation efficiency, and validation processes

  • Support QA and UAT environments to ensure stability, consistency, and deployment readiness

  • Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines to enable continuous testing and reliable releases

  • Identify opportunities to enhance QA tools, monitoring, and processes to improve system quality and user experience

Required Technical Skills

  • Strong expertise in data validation techniques within ETL processes

  • Advanced proficiency in writing SQL queries for data verification and quality checks

  • Hands-on experience in Python for automation scripting

  • Experience with API, database, and backend system testing

  • Working knowledge of CI/CD tools such as Git, GitHub, and cloud-based pipelines

  • Experience working in cloud environments, preferably AWS

  • Familiarity with QA documentation, validation practices, and change control processes in regulated environments

Must-Have Skills

  • Automation and scripting using Python and SQL for data quality and validation testing

  • Integration of QA automation within CI/CD pipelines for cloud-based deployments

  • Experience with incident, problem, and change management tools such as JIRA

  • Strong experience working in Agile and Scrum methodologies

Preferred Skills

  • Prior experience in Healthcare, Life Sciences, or Biotechnology domains

  • Exposure to performance and load testing for large-scale data applications

  • Experience optimizing AWS-based systems for scalability, reliability, and performance
