Job Summary
Amgen is hiring a Strategic Sourcing Senior Manager – Technology (Cross Category) to join its Hyderabad team. In this leadership procurement role, you will develop and execute global sourcing strategies for the technology category across Amgen’s life sciences operations. You’ll engage with stakeholders, vendors, and internal leadership to drive supplier performance, negotiate contracts, and ensure procurement efficiency. This is a strategic role for experienced professionals with a strong background in pharmaceutical procurement, e-sourcing tools, and category strategy development.
Key Responsibilities
Lead global technology procurement strategy, execution, and risk management.
Conduct supplier evaluations, vendor negotiations, and contract lifecycle management.
Analyze procurement and market data to identify cost-saving opportunities.
Use tools like SAP Ariba and Sirion Labs for sourcing execution and CLM.
Collaborate with cross-functional leaders to align sourcing goals with business needs.
Ensure sourcing compliance with legal, privacy, cybersecurity, and risk standards.
Drive procurement alignment with Amgen’s enterprise goals and financial targets.
Provide guidance to junior sourcing professionals and foster continuous improvement.
Act as a category expert on technology procurement within the life sciences space.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Master’s degree with 8–10 years OR Bachelor’s degree with 10–12 years in sourcing.
Minimum 2 years in people leadership or resource management roles.
Experience with global e-sourcing platforms (SAP Ariba, Workday Strategic Sourcing, Sirion Labs).
Strong negotiation, contract management, and supplier relationship skills.
Advanced knowledge of sourcing principles and vendor performance metrics.
Fluency in English and strong stakeholder communication abilities.
Ability to manage complex cross-functional projects in matrixed organizations.
Familiarity with ERP systems and procurement analytics.
Preferred Skills
Expertise in technology sourcing within the life sciences or academic ecosystems.
Experience handling technology-focused service agreements and regulatory risk.
Strong financial and legal acumen in procurement contracts.
