Amgen, a global pioneer in biotechnology and pharmaceuticals, is seeking a Strategic Sourcing Senior Manager – G&A and GCO Cross Category to lead cross-functional global procurement strategies. Key Responsibilities
Lead strategic sourcing initiatives aligned with G&A and GCO category goals.
Drive supplier evaluations, negotiations, and end-to-end contract lifecycle management.
Utilize data analytics tools to identify cost-saving and operational improvement opportunities.
Collaborate with senior stakeholders to align sourcing strategies with enterprise objectives.
Manage relationships with key suppliers to enhance innovation and value delivery.
Ensure procurement activities adhere to risk, legal, and compliance frameworks.
Oversee and align sourcing processes with procurement commercial category strategy.
Lead cross-functional teams and mentor junior sourcing staff.
Engage with regulatory, compliance, and cybersecurity teams for end-to-end sourcing compliance.
Deliver measurable financial impact aligned with category team targets.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Education:
Master’s degree with 8–10 years OR Bachelor’s degree with 10–12 years in sourcing or procurement.
Must-Have Skills:
Proven experience in global strategic sourcing
Strong negotiation and contract management expertise
Proficiency with CLM tools (SAP Ariba, Workday Strategic Sourcing, Sirion Labs)
At least 2 years of people or team management
Strong English communication skills
Good-to-Have Skills:
Domain knowledge of G&A and GCO cross-category sourcing
Experience with vendors in life sciences or academic institutions
Advanced skills in analytics tools and ERP platforms
Fluency in financial, legal, and contract management principles
Familiarity with regulatory and compliance processes in pharma sourcing
Ability to influence and communicate with senior leadership
