This leadership role focuses on managing scientific writing teams, developing high-quality medical communication content, and supporting global publication strategies within the pharmaceutical and healthcare industry.
As a Team Lead – Scientific Writing, you will provide functional and operational leadership to scientific writing teams working across multiple therapeutic areas. The role involves acting as a strategic partner to therapeutic area scientific communication leads, guiding publication planning, and ensuring high-quality scientific deliverables.
You will manage a team of junior to expert scientific writers, mentor them on scientific content and processes, and collaborate with global stakeholders and healthcare professionals. The role also requires maintaining expertise in therapeutic areas, industry trends, and medical communication practices while ensuring compliance with pharmaceutical regulations and quality standards.
Lead and manage a team of scientific writers working on medical communication and publication projects.
Provide strategic inputs for publication plans and scientific communication strategies.
Develop and review scientific documents, clinical reports, manuscripts, abstracts, and medical education materials.
Ensure all scientific deliverables meet quality, compliance, and regulatory standards.
Mentor and coach senior and expert writers to enhance team capabilities.
Collaborate with global medical communication teams and healthcare stakeholders.
Implement tools, technologies, and process improvements to enhance productivity and content quality.
Monitor project timelines, resource allocation, and team performance to ensure timely delivery.
The expected salary for a Team Lead – Scientific Writing in Hyderabad is approximately ₹35 LPA – ₹50 LPA, depending on leadership experience, therapeutic area expertise, and experience in medical communications within the pharmaceutical industry.
Experience: Around 10+ years of experience in scientific writing, medical communication, or pharmaceutical content development.
Leadership: 6+ years of leadership or team management experience in scientific writing or medical communication.
Education: Advanced degree in Life Sciences, Pharmacy, or related discipline (PhD/MD preferred).
Skills: Stakeholder management, team leadership, publication planning, and project management.
Language: Excellent written and spoken English.
