Role Overview

The Tech I – Central Fill Pharmacy role supports high-volume pharmacy fulfillment operations within Cencora’s distribution services. This position is responsible for operating automated systems, preparing prescription fulfillment canisters, maintaining pharmacy equipment, and ensuring accurate medication dispensing under the supervision of pharmacy leadership.

The role requires attention to detail, technical ability, and the capacity to work efficiently in a fast-paced pharmacy production environment.


Work Details

  • Work Schedule: Monday – Friday, 1:00 PM – 9:30 PM (Overtime as required)

  • Location: 215 Deininger Circle, Corona, CA 92880

  • Pay Rate: $23.50/hour (including shift differential where applicable)


Key Responsibilities

1. Prescription Fulfillment Operations

  • Operate automated pharmacy fulfillment equipment under supervision

  • Accurately fill prescriptions, including capping and vial label printing

  • Support both automated and manual dispensing processes

2. Canister Management & Drug Handling

  • Fill canisters with designated medications as directed

  • Build new canisters for drug dispensing systems

  • Clean, maintain, and repair canisters as per schedule

  • Troubleshoot canister-related issues in coordination with engineering teams

3. Equipment Maintenance & Workflow Support

  • Perform routine cleaning and maintenance of automated pharmacy machines

  • Assist with troubleshooting mechanical or system issues

  • Ensure continuous workflow efficiency in fulfillment operations

4. Inventory & Supply Support

  • Restock medications and pharmacy supplies for manual and automated stations

  • Assist Inventory Coordinator with receiving and organizing wholesale drug shipments

  • Follow proper storage and handling procedures for all pharmaceutical products

5. Accuracy & Compliance

  • Ensure accuracy in prescription fulfillment and labeling

  • Follow all pharmacy policies, safety regulations, and operational procedures

  • Maintain compliance with state pharmacy technician requirements

6. Team Collaboration

  • Work under the direction of Lead Pharmacy Technician or supervisory staff

  • Support cross-functional pharmacy operations

  • Maintain strong communication and teamwork within the facility


Required Qualifications

Education

  • Technical vocational training OR equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Completion of State, National, or NACDS pharmacy technician training (as required by state law)

Experience

  • 1–2 years of related experience preferred

  • Prior retail or hospital pharmacy experience is a plus

Licensing

  • Must hold a current, unrestricted Pharmacy Technician license in the applicable state
