Role Overview

The Technical Writer is responsible for creating, maintaining, and improving technical documentation such as user manuals, installation guides, and product specifications. The role collaborates closely with engineering, product management, and design teams to transform complex technical information into clear, accurate, and user-friendly content. Working under direct supervision, the Technical Writer ensures documentation quality, consistency, and compliance while supporting continuous process improvements.

Documentation Development

  • Develop detailed and comprehensive technical documentation, including:

  • Ensure documentation accuracy, completeness, and clarity.
  • Work under direct supervision to meet documentation standards and project requirements.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Collaborate with:
    • Engineering Teams

  • Translate complex technical concepts into:

    • User-friendly documentation

Research & Information Gathering

  • Conduct in-depth research to understand:
    • Product functionality

  • Ensure all documentation is based on accurate and up-to-date information.

Technical Writing Best Practices

  • Apply industry-standard technical writing methodologies.
  • Follow organizational documentation standards and protocols.
  • Continuously improve documentation quality and effectiveness.

Documentation Improvement

  • Analyze feedback from:
    • End users
    • Stakeholders
  • Enhance:

Content Validation

  • Coordinate with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to:
    • Validate technical information

Documentation Maintenance

  • Ensure documentation remains current and accurate.

Compliance & Consistency

  • Identify inefficiencies in documentation workflows.
  • Recommend and implement process improvements to:

Issue Resolution

  • Troubleshoot documentation-related issues and discrepancies.
  • Resolve problems promptly to avoid project delays.

Domain Expertise

  • Develop expertise in a specific product area or technology domain.
  • Serve as the primary documentation resource for that area.
  • Create specialized content as required.

Required Qualifications

Education

Bachelor’s degree in:

  • Electrical Engineering
  • Software Engineering
  • Equivalent technical discipline

Experience

  • Minimum 2 years of Technical Writing experience.

Technical Writing Skills

  • Strong technical writing and editing abilities.
  • Proficiency in English grammar and technical communication.
  • Ability to create structured and user-focused documentation.

Content Management Systems

Experience with XML/DITA-based authoring and Content Management Systems (CMS), such as:

  • Arbortext
  • Windchill
  • Other XML/DITA editors and CMS platforms
