Position Overview
Omega Healthcare is hiring Trainee Coders in Coimbatore to support coding and auditing of patient charts and diagnosis reports. This entry-level role is ideal for fresh graduates or candidates with minimal experience who are eager to start a career in medical coding, clinical documentation, and healthcare revenue cycle management.
Key Responsibilities
Review and respond to project updates and client emails regularly.
Update, track, and clear production and pending coding reports.
Perform medical coding or auditing of patient charts based on project requirements.
Prepare and maintain status reports for management review.
Understand and implement client-specific coding guidelines and project specifications.
Ensure timely achievement of productivity targets while maintaining accuracy.
Deliver high-quality coding outputs in line with client expectations and standards.
Support miscellaneous coding-related tasks as required to meet team and project objectives.
Required Qualifications
Educational Background: Any graduate; specialization in Life Sciences, Nursing, Pharmacy, Biotechnology, or related fields preferred.
Experience: 0 – 1 year; freshers with a strong interest in medical coding are encouraged to apply.
Certification: Not mandatory for entry-level, but CPC, CCS, COC, or AHIMA certifications will be an added advantage.
Skills & Competencies
Basic understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
Familiarity with ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS coding guidelines.
Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and analytical skills.
Ability to work independently and meet productivity targets.
Excellent communication skills for team coordination and client interaction.
Eagerness to learn, adapt, and grow in a fast-paced medical coding environment.
