Associate – Biostatistical Programming | Amgen, Hyderabad

Job Summary:

Amgen is hiring an Associate – Biostatistical Programming at its Hyderabad, India location. This on-site role is ideal for candidates with 2 to 6 years of experience in statistical programming using SAS and SQL, with additional exposure to R, Python, and real-world healthcare data (RWD). The role involves hands-on programming, supporting regulatory submissions, observational research, and real-world evidence (RWE) generation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, validate, and execute SAS programs for clinical and RWE outputs

  • Manipulate large RWD datasets for epidemiological analysis using SAS/SQL

  • Develop Unix and Databricks scripts to produce datasets, tables, and figures

  • Lead programming initiatives and represent CfOR in cross-functional teams

  • Collaborate with statisticians and project teams to implement Statistical Analysis Plans

  • Write and review programming plans and dataset specifications

  • Participate in audits, quality assurance, and regulatory submissions

  • Contribute to process improvements and innovation in programming techniques


Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Life Sciences, or related fields

  • 2 to 6 years of experience in statistical programming

  • Proficient in SAS and SQL (required)

  • Experience with R and Python (preferred)

  • Exposure to real-world data such as claims, EHR, registries (e.g., MarketScan, Flatiron, Optum)

  • Strong communication skills for global collaboration

  • Detail-oriented with problem-solving and team collaboration mindset

  • Experience with OMOP data model is a plus
