Position Summary:

Syneos Health is seeking an experienced Associate Director of Real World Evidence (RWE) to lead a sponsor-dedicated, US-based remote team. This role provides strategic, technical, and operational oversight for real-world data (RWD) analytics, observational research, and RWE initiatives supporting the drug development lifecycle. The Associate Director ensures high-quality delivery of RWE outputs, oversees staff development, and drives continuous improvement in processes and compliance.


Key Responsibilities:

Leadership & Team Management

  • Lead and mentor a cross-functional RWE team, including staffing, performance management, professional development, and HR-related activities.

  • Oversee onboarding, competency development, and training for RWE staff.

  • Manage workload allocation, resource planning, and budget tracking for FSP activities.

Scientific & Technical Oversight

  • Provide technical guidance in RWE analytics, study design, epidemiology, and operational execution.

  • Ensure accuracy, quality, and timeliness of RWE workstreams aligned with project goals.

  • Support consulting and decision-making across Sponsor teams, including escalations when needed.

Process & Quality Management

  • Drive continuous improvement in documentation, compliance, process discipline, and quality control.

  • Facilitate effective communication across FSP and Sponsor teams to ensure alignment on objectives and deliverables.


Required Qualifications:

  • Proven leadership experience managing scientific, analytical, or operational staff in a cross-functional environment.

  • Strong knowledge of RWE, real-world data sources (claims, EHR, registry, clinico-genomic), and applications in clinical, regulatory, safety, and commercial contexts.

  • Familiarity with observational research methodologies, epidemiology, and real-world analytics.

  • Demonstrated ability to balance strategic priorities with operational execution.

  • Advanced degree preferred in quantitative sciences, data science, epidemiology, or related field.

Experience:

  • Minimum 7–10 years in RWE, observational research, or related scientific analytics roles.

  • Experience in FSP, Sponsor-dedicated, or CRO delivery models is highly desirable.

  • Prior involvement in managing remote teams and cross-functional collaboration.
