Job Overview

Velocity Clinical Research is hiring a Director, Clinical Systems to lead the enterprise clinical technology ecosystem, system architecture, and digital transformation strategy.

This is a high-impact leadership role responsible for ensuring seamless integration, governance, and optimization of clinical systems such as CTMS, regulatory platforms, source data capture, scheduling tools, and reporting systems.

You will drive data integrity, automation, and scalability across clinical operations—making this role critical for efficient clinical trial execution, compliance, and business performance.


Key Responsibilities

Enterprise Systems Architecture & Ownership

  • Own and manage clinical systems architecture and ecosystem strategy

  • Define and maintain target-state enterprise system architecture

  • Ensure interoperability across CTMS, EDC, regulatory, and reporting systems

  • Prevent siloed systems through standardized architecture governance

Solution Design & Governance

  • Lead enterprise-level impact analysis for system changes and new initiatives

  • Chair change control and governance forums

  • Translate business transformation into technology roadmaps

  • Optimize data flow, ownership, and governance models

Operational Optimization & Automation

  • Identify opportunities for workflow automation and process efficiency

  • Improve cycle time, operational performance, and data quality

  • Manage vendor relationships and performance reviews

  • Drive adoption of AI, analytics, and automation tools

Adoption, Training & Change Management

  • Develop enterprise-wide training and adoption frameworks

  • Monitor system utilization, compliance, and performance metrics

  • Lead organizational change management initiatives

  • Act as escalation point for system-related issues

Governance, Quality & Compliance

  • Ensure alignment with ICH-GCP and global regulatory standards

  • Maintain audit readiness and compliance documentation

  • Oversee vendor governance and system validation processes

  • Develop and maintain SOPs and governance frameworks


Required Skills & Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences / Healthcare / Information Systems

  • Master’s degree – preferred

Experience

  • Minimum 8+ years in clinical systems, IT, or digital transformation leadership

  • Experience managing multi-system integration in clinical research environments

Technical Skills

  • Expertise in CTMS, EDC, regulatory systems, and clinical trial technologies

  • Strong understanding of clinical workflows and regulatory frameworks (ICH-GCP)

  • Knowledge of SQL, APIs, cloud platforms, and system integrations

  • Experience with AI/ML tools, automation, and LLM-based platforms

  • Familiarity with data governance, reporting, and analytics systems
