Director, Commercial Data Management – Amgen, Hyderabad
Job Summary
Amgen, a global biotech leader, is hiring a Director of Commercial Data Management at its Hyderabad Innovation Center. In this full-time, on-site role, you’ll lead the strategic buildout of Amgen’s Commercial Data Strategy and Management capabilities. This role is ideal for experienced pharma data professionals with a passion for building high-performing teams, transitioning global data operations, and advancing innovation in healthcare data management.
Key Responsibilities
Hire, develop, and manage high-performing data teams in India
Lead teams across data domains: MDM, platforms, patient data, and governance
Oversee work transitions and insourcing of services from external vendors
Collaborate with global stakeholders and cross-functional teams
Establish Agile product teams with Technology/IT partners
Identify process gaps and drive operational improvements
Ensure compliance, risk mitigation, and operational readiness
Maintain alignment on goals, priorities, and success measures across CDNA
Required Skills & Qualifications
Doctorate with 4+ years OR Master’s with 14–16 years OR Bachelor’s with 16–18 years of data management experience
Proven success building and retaining data teams in India
Experience leading global data transformation initiatives
Strong leadership, stakeholder engagement, and communication skills
Familiarity with data flows, data privacy, and compliance
Excellent spoken and written English
Comfortable working in cross-cultural, global environments
Experience with Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) is a plus
Functional Skills
Must-Have:
Expertise in data platforms, MDM, patient data, data acquisition
Experience with AI-enhanced data usability tools
Track record of continuous improvement and innovation
Strategic thinking with business outcome focus
Good-to-Have:
Life sciences data domain experience
Knowledge of pharma commercial data strategy
Familiarity with regulatory compliance and data privacy laws
