About the Role
VEE Healthtek is seeking experienced Team Leads / Team Coaches in medical coding to oversee and mentor high-performing coding teams specializing in IP DRG, Surgery, HCC, and ED Facility coding. This leadership role requires a combination of technical expertise, team management skills, and experience in US healthcare medical coding standards.
Key Responsibilities
Lead, coach, and mentor medical coding teams to achieve operational and quality targets.
Oversee coding accuracy, compliance, and productivity in IP DRG, Surgery, HCC, and ED Facility domains.
Monitor team performance, provide feedback, and implement improvement initiatives.
Collaborate with managers, SMEs, and other stakeholders to streamline coding processes.
Ensure adherence to coding standards, client requirements, and regulatory guidelines.
Support training and knowledge development within the team to enhance coding expertise.
Manage reporting, metrics, and productivity dashboards to meet business goals.
Mandatory Skills & Qualifications
6–10 years of experience in US healthcare medical coding (IP DRG, Surgery, HCC, ED Facility).
Proven experience in leading or coaching medical coding teams.
Strong knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT, and DRG coding standards.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and team management skills.
Ability to analyze coding data and implement quality improvement measures.
Preferred Skills
Experience with CDI and clinical documentation review is an advantage.
Familiarity with coding audit processes and compliance frameworks.
Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
