Job Overview

Novo Nordisk is hiring a Global Publication Lead for its Rare Disease Medical Communications & Publications team in Bengaluru. Job Responsibilities

Global Publication Strategy Leadership

  • Lead the development and execution of publication strategies for the global rare disease portfolio.
  • Drive scientific dissemination aligned with medical and portfolio objectives.
  • Ensure timely delivery of impactful scientific communication plans.

Publication Planning Group (PPG) Leadership

  • Plan, organize, and chair Publication Planning Group (PPG) meetings.
  • Drive alignment among global cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Lead discussions around:
    • Publication priorities
    • Timelines
    • Authorship decisions
    • Strategic publication milestones
    • Scientific dissemination planning

End-to-End Publication Management

Manage the complete publication lifecycle including:

  • Publication concept development
  • Manuscript planning
  • Author coordination
  • Draft development oversight
  • Internal review management
  • Journal submission
  • Peer-review response management
  • Publication approval workflows
  • Post-publication activities

Scientific Publication Development

Lead high-impact publication deliverables such as:

  • Primary manuscripts
  • Secondary analyses
  • Pooled analyses
  • Strategic scientific communications
  • Publication extenders

Congress Scientific Communications

Coordinate congress-related scientific deliverables including:

  • Abstracts
  • Posters
  • Oral presentations

Ensure alignment with broader medical strategy and scientific messaging.

Compliance & Publication Governance

Ensure strict adherence to:

  • GPP4 (Good Publication Practice)
  • ICMJE guidelines

Stakeholder & Vendor Management

Collaborate with:

  • Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs)
  • Internal medical writers

Manage vendor performance, budgets, contracting, and publication deliverables.

Training & Capability Development

  • Provide guidance to internal teams on:

  • Support capability building across publication functions.

Project Management

  • Manage multiple complex publication projects simultaneously.
  • Coordinate timelines, stakeholder expectations, deliverables, and milestones.

About the Department

The RareD MedComms & Publications team is part of Novo Nordisk’s Product & Portfolio Strategy organization, supporting global rare disease programs through strategic scientific communication and publication excellence.

This global team works closely with international stakeholders, supporting commercial and medical strategies for rare disease therapies while maintaining the highest scientific and ethical standards.

Educational Qualification

Candidates must have:
