Job Description
ICON plc is hiring a Lead Clinical Data Science Programmer to join its clinical data science team in Bangalore. In this role, you will lead the development and implementation of advanced data science and programming solutions that support clinical trials and research analytics.
You will be responsible for building and maintaining data pipelines, clinical data programming frameworks, and analytical visualizations that help drive data-driven decisions in clinical development. The role requires strong expertise in Python programming, clinical data structures, and data visualization tools within a regulated clinical research environment.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the development and maintenance of clinical data pipelines and analytics platforms.
Support continuous improvement initiatives related to systems deployment, lifecycle management, and platform enhancements.
Build and maintain automated reports and visual analytics for clinical trial data.
Work with cross-functional teams to ensure efficient report development and change management processes.
Apply technical expertise to complex business processes and clinical data environments.
Collaborate with multiple departments in a matrix organizational structure to deliver high-quality data science solutions.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Life Sciences, or a related field.
4+ years of experience working in a clinical trial or regulated data environment.
Experience as a Business Analyst or Data Programmer within Data Warehouse platforms.
Strong knowledge of Python programming and data manipulation libraries.
Preferred Skills
Expertise in Python data libraries such as Pandas and PySpark.
Knowledge of SDTM clinical data structures.
Experience with clinical data mapping and therapeutic domain knowledge.
Experience with TIBCO Spotfire development.
Familiarity with data visualization tools like Power BI, Tableau, or Qlik.
Experience working with Databricks.
Ability to gather requirements and create user requirement documentation.
Capability to independently manage moderate to complex assignments.
