Job Overview

We are hiring a Manager – Projects and Strategic Scientific Affairs to lead high-impact scientific, digital, and medico-marketing initiatives aligned with the organization’s long-term vision of transforming how medicines are used in India.

This role is designed for strategic thinkers with strong analytical capabilities, stakeholder management expertise, and experience in scientific project leadership within the pharmaceutical or consulting industry. The successful candidate will work cross-functionally across Medical Affairs, Marketing, Digital, Finance, Legal, and Compliance teams to drive large-scale scientific programs and KOL engagement strategies.

Strategic Responsibilities

Scientific Strategy and Vision Execution

  • Design and implement innovative short- and long-term scientific strategies aligned with the organization’s growth vision.

  • Propose forward-looking therapeutic strategies based on market evolution, disease trends, and competitive intelligence.

  • Develop transformative scientific projects supporting multiple business units across affiliates.

Key Opinion Leader (KOL) Engagement and Advocacy

  • Develop and maintain relationships with 300+ top KOLs across multiple therapeutic areas.

  • Drive continuous engagement with 1,000+ KOLs across 12 therapeutic areas and 35 business units.

  • Lead external advocacy initiatives across 30+ government and non-government institutions.

  • Collaborate with 20+ national and state-level medical associations and societies.

  • Manage stakeholder relationships with hospital decision-makers and scientific advocacy groups.

Medico-Marketing and Competitive Intelligence

  • Provide scientific competitive intelligence insights to support therapeutic area strategies.

  • Support Medical Affairs in gathering strategic insights for New Product Introductions (NPIs) and Loss of Exclusivity (LoE) planning.

  • Play an influential role in developing medico-marketing plans in collaboration with Marketing Managers and Business Heads.

  • Drive innovative programs with leading medical societies to create brand differentiation in the marketplace.

Digital Scientific Outreach and Innovation

  • Lead scientific outreach strategies utilizing digital healthcare tools and platforms.

  • Collaborate closely with the digital team to enhance online scientific engagement initiatives.

  • Drive capability-building initiatives to strengthen digital Medical Affairs competencies.

Operational and Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work with Finance, Legal, Procurement, and Compliance teams for contract development and stakeholder agreements.

  • Coordinate with publishers for clinical study publications and scientific position papers.

  • Lead participation and contracting for national medical conferences.

  • Design execution frameworks for corporate signature scientific programs.

  • Provide on-demand strategic medical support in therapeutic areas including Gastroenterology, Diabetes, Metabolic Disorders, Cardiology, Psychiatry, Adult Immunization, Insomnia, and Immunity Sciences.

Required Qualifications and Experience

Education

  • MBBS, BPharm, or Science Graduate with an MBA from a reputed institute.

Experience

  • Minimum 3–7+ years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry or consulting, with exposure to strategic scientific projects or digital healthcare initiatives.

  • Experience in roles such as Marketing Excellence Manager, Group Product Manager, Medical Affairs Manager, or Strategic Consultant within an MNC preferred.

  • Demonstrated experience managing digital or corporate-level scientific programs.
