Role Overview
The Therapy Business Manager – GI Prima Division will be responsible for driving sales growth and expanding market presence within the assigned territory. This role involves building strong relationships with healthcare professionals, promoting Abbott’s gastrointestinal therapy portfolio, and implementing effective sales and brand strategies.

The position requires consistent field engagement, prescription generation activities, and collaboration with healthcare providers to achieve sales objectives while maintaining ethical promotional practices.

Key Responsibilities

Business Development and Territory Sales Management

  • Achieve monthly, quarterly, half-yearly, and annual sales targets for the assigned territory.

  • Promote company products ethically to healthcare professionals in alignment with the business plan and sales strategy.

  • Maintain required doctor call averages and coverage as per the division’s customer management plan.

Doctor Engagement and Relationship Building

  • Develop strong professional relationships with physicians and healthcare providers within the assigned territory.

  • Conduct regular field visits to present product information, clinical benefits, and therapy-related insights.

Continuing Medical Education (CME) and Promotional Activities

  • Organize medical camps, Continuing Medical Education (CME) programs, and scientific meetings based on division strategies and customer needs.

  • Support educational initiatives to increase product awareness and therapeutic knowledge among healthcare professionals.

New Product Launch Support

  • Facilitate successful launch and market adoption of new pharmaceutical products.

  • Execute product launch strategies and ensure effective communication of product value propositions to healthcare providers.

Customer Database Management

  • Develop and maintain an updated list of healthcare professionals based on therapy segments and product focus.

  • Continuously review and update customer information for effective territory management.

Digital Sales Tools and CLM Adoption

  • Ensure effective use of digital sales tools such as iPad-based detailing and Closed Loop Marketing (CLM) platforms where applicable.

  • Maintain compliance with company guidelines for digital engagement.

Brand Management and Market Analysis

  • Conduct prescription audits for Abbott brands and competing products to assess market share and prescribing patterns.

  • Generate Product Order Bookings (POBs) for Abbott brands in alignment with the territory business plan.

Educational Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Science (BSc), Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm), or any relevant graduate degree.

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a Medical Representative or in pharmaceutical sales.

  • Experience in territory management and doctor engagement activities is required.

Preferred Experience

  • Prior or current experience in the Gastrointestinal (GI) therapy segment is advantageous.

  • Candidates with experience in multinational pharmaceutical companies or leading Indian pharmaceutical organizations will be preferred.
