Job Summary
We are seeking a Trainer – Medical Coding with hands-on expertise in HCC coding and denial management to join our Chennai team. The trainer will facilitate structured training sessions, interpret medical records, guide denial actions, support compliance audits, and ensure coders and auditors are updated on industry standards. This role requires strong analytical skills, team management capabilities, and certification from AAPC or AHIMA.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct and facilitate training sessions for HCC coding and denial management as per the training agenda
Review and interpret payer guidelines, ensuring accurate, payer-specific knowledge for training purposes
Analyze medical records across specialties and provide actionable denial management guidance
Deliver continuous education programs for client-specific coding teams
Assist in internal compliance audits for HCC coders and auditors
Stay updated with industry changes, coding standards, and regulatory updates
Track, report, and analyze trainee performance to ensure effective ramp-up to client and operational expectations
Mentor and develop coders to strengthen capabilities in denial management and accurate coding
Job Requirements
Excellent team management, mentoring, and communication skills
Strong knowledge of the Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) process
Hands-on experience in HCC coding, denial management, and coder mentoring
Analytical and detail-oriented with the ability to guide coders in accurate documentation and coding
Experience in training, certification programs, and performance assessment
Qualifications
Minimum 3 years of experience in medical coding training, particularly HCC coding
Certified coder from AAPC or AHIMA
Proficiency in ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS coding standards
Prior experience in training coders on denial management and RCM processes
