Role Overview
Lilly is seeking a Clinical Research Physician (CRP) specializing in Metabolics to support the Orforglipron program. This role integrates scientific, medical, and clinical expertise to drive local and global strategies in clinical development, medical affairs, and brand commercialization. The CRP will collaborate with global development teams, therapeutic area programs, clinical pharmacology, and translational medicine teams to ensure successful clinical trials, regulatory compliance, and strategic alignment with patient and healthcare provider needs.

Key Responsibilities

Medical Expertise & Strategy

  • Provide expert guidance in metabolics and related therapeutic areas for global, regional, and affiliate teams.

  • Contribute to medical strategies supporting brand launch, commercialization, and patient engagement.

  • Ensure detailed, current knowledge of Orforglipron data and related disease areas.

  • Collaborate with PRA (Pricing, Reimbursement & Access), Clinical Operations, Regulatory Affairs, Global Product Safety, and Marketing to optimize scientific and clinical insights.

Clinical Research & Trial Management

  • Develop and implement local clinical trial plans aligned with global/regional strategies.

  • Support site selection, investigator engagement, trial initiation, and PDR meetings.

  • Contribute to protocol review, study reports, and regulatory submissions.

  • Monitor adverse event reporting in compliance with GCP, FDA, ICH, and CPMP guidelines.

External Engagement

  • Engage with HCPs, advocacy groups, professional societies, and regulators.

  • Support scientific dissemination, medical education, and thought leader engagement.

  • Present clinical data and participate in advisory boards, symposia, and medical meetings.

Leadership & Mentorship

  • Provide guidance and development support to Medical Affairs Professionals (MAPs) and Medical Science Liaisons (MSLs).

  • Participate in recruitment, performance management, and training initiatives.

  • Mentor team members to maximize professional growth and organizational value.

Qualifications & Experience

  • MBBS/MD with full Medical Council registration or eligibility.

  • Clinical or industry expertise in metabolics or related therapeutic areas highly desirable.

  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to balance scientific priorities with business objectives.

  • Willingness to engage in domestic and international travel as required.

  • Fluent in English (verbal and written).

  • Support medical information requests, regulatory submissions, and medical education initiatives.
