Director, Clinical Development – Hematology/Oncology

Location: Remote (USA) | Sites: Palo Alto, CA; Philadelphia, PA

Job Summary:

Join Jazz Pharmaceuticals as a Director, Clinical Development specializing in Hematology and Oncology. This remote leadership role offers the opportunity to shape oncology drug development strategy and lead clinical programs from early-phase trials to regulatory filings. Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement clinical trial strategies for investigational and marketed oncology drugs

  • Lead clinical study design, execution, data analysis, and interpretation

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with R&D, Regulatory, Commercial, and Business Development teams

  • Monitor and oversee the conduct of clinical trials ensuring quality and compliance

  • Contribute to regulatory filings (IND, NDA, MAA) and clinical study reports

  • Provide scientific input for clinical documents and interactions with global regulatory authorities

  • Engage with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) and academic institutions to enhance clinical plans

  • Represent Jazz in medical and business development discussions

  • Evaluate licensing opportunities from a clinical perspective

  • Ensure timely evaluation and reporting of drug safety signals


Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • MD, or MD/PhD with 3–5 years’ experience in oncology clinical development

  • Proven track record in designing and leading oncology clinical trials in the pharma industry

  • Board certification in Oncology (preferred but not mandatory)

  • Strong knowledge of global regulatory requirements (e.g., FDA, EMA)

  • Excellent leadership, teamwork, and communication skills

  • Scientific publication record in oncology/hematology (preferred)

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and timelines effectively

  • Up to 20-30% travel required
