Role Overview:
The Director – Medical Affairs will provide strategic and operational leadership in medical, clinical, and regulatory aspects of Abbott HF products. Reporting to the Chief Medical Officer, this role ensures high-quality medical input across product development, clinical research, compliance, commercial activities, and customer interactions. The Director will represent Abbott HF with regulatory agencies, professional societies, and key opinion leaders (KOLs).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain medical opinions, medical platform documents, and Health Hazard Assessments.

  • Provide medical guidance for promotional, commercial, and educational activities.

  • Serve as medical representative on Risk Evaluation and Investigation teams.

  • Update medical affairs procedural documents and submit change requests as needed.

  • Provide medical input for MDR reporting, quality/regulatory communications, technical bulletins, and quality directives.

  • Lead Investigator-Initiated Study (IIS) and Research Grant programs regionally.

  • Support KOL engagement and professional society interactions.

  • Contribute medical insights to new product development initiatives.

  • Document and manage off-label discussions in compliance with company policy.

  • Provide expert guidance on clinical research interpretation, data analysis, and presentation.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • MD strongly preferred; PhD in a relevant scientific or clinical field considered.

  • Minimum 5 years of clinical experience, ideally in cardiovascular medicine.

  • Proven experience in clinical research, protocol interpretation, and presentation of clinical data.

  • Strong presentation, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.

  • Ability to travel up to 70% as required.
