Regional Medical & Scientific Affairs Manager

Location: Kolkata, India
Region Covered: East India (West Bengal, Orissa, Assam, Bihar-Jharkhand)

Reporting To: Head Pediatric Nutrition, SMA

Minimum Qualification & Experience:

  • Education: MD/MBBS/MDS/BDS
  • Experience: 3-5 years in a regional/medico-marketing role within a pharmaceutical/nutrition company

Critical Skills Required:

  • Strong interpersonal, communication, coordination, and time-management skills
  • Ability to problem-solve, lead teams, and present complex data effectively
  • Work independently with attention to detail
  • Adaptability to diverse working conditions
  • Proficiency in scientific presentations for internal teams and healthcare professionals (HCPs)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead all scientific activities in the assigned regions
  • Deliver lectures/presentations to HCPs and participate in scientific programs
  • Oversee HCP E-engagement platforms driven by the head office
  • Conduct fieldwork with regional sales teams (face-to-face and virtual)
  • Facilitate unbiased scientific information exchange between the company and the medical community
  • Build long-term relationships with key opinion leaders (KOLs) and drive advocacy efforts
  • Identify and segment KOLs based on specialty, experience, and academic interest
  • Support sales teams with medical information services (MIS), research updates, and objection handling
  • Continuously update medical/product knowledge and contribute to regional training efforts
  • Monitor competitive/scientific intelligence and report insights to Medical Affairs leadership
  • Ensure all medical and promotional activities comply with internal guidelines, country regulations, and industry codes
