Job Overview

We are seeking a Medical Coding Project Manager to lead and manage medical coding initiatives within the Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) product organization. This role is critical to delivering business solutions, improving operational efficiency, and enhancing customer value through the execution of medical coding automation and process improvement projects.

The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with strong analytical skills, project management experience, and deep expertise in medical coding standards and guidelines. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, influence stakeholders, and drive impactful projects while ensuring compliance and quality across all coding operations.


Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze both quantitative and qualitative data to identify root causes and process gaps

  • Present clear, actionable insights and trends to stakeholders, supporting data-driven decision making

  • Design workflow solutions emphasizing automation, AI integration, and product enhancements over manual processes

  • Apply Lean Six Sigma or other operational engineering techniques to optimize workflows and maintain continuity

  • Identify opportunities to expand client value through improved or additional services

  • Ensure compliance with medical coding standards and guidelines across services and products

  • Lead project planning, execution, and cross-functional collaboration, balancing urgency and stakeholder expectations

  • Track metrics, define success criteria, and monitor program performance to ensure transparency and measurable outcomes

  • Gather customer feedback to inform product and service prioritization and improvement

  • Present project purpose, updates, and outcomes to leadership and stakeholders with confidence and clarity


Education & Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience

  • 5+ years of professional experience in medical coding

  • 2+ years of project or team management experience

  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams and presenting to stakeholders

  • Demonstrated ability to independently manage multiple projects

  • Experience with computer-assisted coding and/or coding automation tools preferred

  • CPC and/or CCS certification from AAPC or AHIMA – required

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, OneNote)

  • Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma and Agile development methodologies – preferred

  • SQL experience preferred


Compensation

  • $86,000 – $146,000 annually (base salary range varies based on experience, knowledge, skills, and location)

  • Additional Total Rewards may include short and long-term incentives, annual discretionary bonus, variable compensation plans, and equity plans
